Blast from the Past

It's been awhile since we had a Blast from the Past Friday, but I found this a little while ago and thought it'd be fun to post. Taking a photograph of a baby in a cloth diaper had to be risky...

I had forgotten this picture and newspaper story! Wow! But cloth diapers were usually covered by plastic pants to keep us from getting wet. Diaper pictures were very popular for many years clear back to the 1900's and baby contests were as well. They even had the "best baby" contests up until the 1930's where they looked over the babies just like they looked over livestock. Judging them for weight, hair, height, purity of color and so on. The contests were stopped completely when the happenings in the Nazi prison camps became known. Jay was sure a chubby baby and he liked to giggle alot. He was just happy most all the time.
