Grandma and Grandpa created a huge family. Many of us grew up together, meeting at that tiny house every Sunday morning after Sunday school. Others lived far away, but your visits were greatly anticipated and enjoyed. We are spread across the country now, living our lives, raising our own children, some of us enjoying grandchildren. We are all different, but we come from the same roots.
Looks like they're missing Uncle Bill. Look at Grandpa's face, and think of Bobby. Man, they look alike! Baby is Barb. Aunt Bobbie must've been new to the family?
I think Uncle Bill was already in the Navy then. Aunt Lyn would have already survivied both menigitis and polio. My mom may have been divorced by then. She tended to be kinda skinny after she had diptheria and stayed that way for many years. Yes Aunt Bobbi was newly married to Uncle Jim. This was taken in another house not in York where the grandfolks lived. I remember it as very dark with lots of dark woodwork and flowered wall paper, also dark. The furniture was dark and heavy looking. It may have been on one of their farms.
I'm sitting here with mom and aunt Janet and they say this was taken in Sutton when uncle Bill was in the Navy. This was just after Aunt Lyn recovered from encephelitis and came out of her coma, she was 12. The community of Sutton bought her a bicycle for her 12th birthday. She did not have meningitis as I said before.
